Compassionate Dog Training & Walking

Emily loves animals of all sizes, wild or tame. She grew up with cats, the native creatures of Vermont, and a pack of Labradors. As a child, she found small dogs confusing and insisted they were “woof-cats,” but their canine IQ has grown since then. Emily landed in The Bay in 2007 and started studying positive, motivational training techniques and canine behavior while volunteering with compassionate animal handlers in SF.

They spent over five years leading off-leash groups of dogs in the wild corners of San Francisco for Active Dog Adventure Club and three years leading group walks and puppy socialization sessions with Doggy Lama Pet Care.

In 2024 Emily became a proud graduate of the Dog Training Intern Academy at SF Puppy Prep, certified in R+ dog training. They now offer walks and training local to El Cerrtito where Emily lives with her spouse and their sassy black cat, Tabbouleh.

Training Services

Consultations, Coaching, Day training, and specialized sessions to help you and your dog. We'll work together on a video call or in person depending on your location and what works best for your dog.

We made a training plan and I'll work with your dog at your home 3-5 times a week for 40 minute sessions.

We'll have periodic 60 minute handover sessions where I demonstrate what your dog has learned and coach you through accessing and maintaining their new skills.

$80/DT session, $120 handover session

Training Consultations

A personalized training session designed get us started. The goal is to enhance communication and understanding between you and your dog about the problem or questions you have.

You'll fill out my form to give me all the details so I can prepare, then we'll meet for 75 minutes to discuss and understand the issue, make a management plan so you can get some relief, discuss training options for you moving forward and demonstrate some training exercises that can help.

Training consultations are available as an in person service or remotely by video call depending on your location and what's best for your dog's needs.

We made a training plan and you will train and work with your dog, then meet with me for an hour to check in, update your training plan and demonstrate any new exercises. This package includes remote support by phone/text and weekly video review.

You will see the benefits directly and have immediate access to their new skills rather than waiting for a handover session. You will build a better relationship with your dog faster than with me doing the daily training, and with more confidence than following generic advice since my coaching is tailored specifically for you and your dog.

Walking Services

Weekly Group Hikes

Hit the trails and hike with friends! We ride around town to pick everyone up, hike for one hour, then come home happy after. Individual evaluations are required. Good trail manners and canine social skills are must haves! 2-5 walks weekly, scheduled and billed monthly. $45 each, 2nd dog -$10 discount

V.I.C. Walks

Your dog is a Very Important Canine, they just need more than your average dog; more management, more care, more personal space, or other considerations. Do they need a private hike, need a crate for transport, have reactive behaviors on leash, or maybe they just struggle to enjoy normal walks? This is their service. Individually crafted for your V.I.C. $80 each, full hour only.

Let us take the lead and get your dog(s) out of the house. Full hour or half hour walks on a regular weekly schedule, billed monthly. $65/$45 each, 2nd dog -$10 discount

Muzzle Fitting with CER+ Coaching

Muzzles are a great tool for every dog to know and love. Do you have a dog who needs a muzzle for safety, preventing scavenging, or post-surgery management? I'm here for you with a full set of baskets from The Muzzle Movement and a discount code for your purchase. I have their full size range to try on from Tolly to Mitzy plus an example of every strap and accessory for you examine. TMM basket muzzles are a full pant fit, designed to be comfortable, safe, and look approachable (they're colorful!) TMM doesn't fit every dog (yet) but we can measure and find the best options available for every snout.

What's CER+? It's the process of Conditioning your dog to have a Positive Emotional Response to their new gear. Muzzled dogs are good dogs and they should feel good too. I offer this service at a discount to my regular training rate in support of muzzle dog guardians and their amazing dogs.

Drop-in Visits

Need in-home care for your dog or cat? I'm available to be there when you can't be.

This service includes tending to their food, water, litter box/potty break, basic medical needs, clean-up, and of course, quality time. Special needs considered, just ask!
